Puri: The administration has breathed a sigh of relief as all the three chariots have safely made to their destination at the Gundicha Temple, which is also known as the Mausima Mandir. This year, Puri has received lakhs of pilgrims, who are here to witness the first Nabakalebara Yatra of the millennium, with the newly carved idols of the deities.

The procession began with the Taladhwaja of Lord Balabhadra at the forefront and the chariot had reached the temple last evening. The Darpadalan of Devi Subhadra had taken an evening halt at Badasankha while the Nandighosh of Lord Jagannath had stopped at Balagandi for the evening.

The Yatra resumed today morning, with the devotees pulling both the chariots and taking them to the Gundicha Temple. The deities will now reside in Gundicha Temple till July 26, when “Bahuda Yatra” will take place and they will be back on their return journey.
