Five Bodies found on Railway Tracks, Suspected to be Mass Suicide

Five Person Committed Suicide in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: It appears to be a case of mass suicide. Last night Police have Recovered bodies of a man, a woman & three girls were found on the railway tracks near Sarala Junction in Sambalpur district, Odisha.

The deceased was identified as Dharanidhar Panda, his wife Sangeeta Panda and her three daughters, two of whom were identified as Ananya Panda and Aparjit Panda. Dharanidhar was working as a music teacher in a private school in Sambalpur.

According to sources, the driver of Sambalpur-Jharsuguda DMU told the Government Railway Police (GRP) about the dead body on Tuesday at 9 o’clock Tuesday. GRP reached the scene along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and recovered the bodies.

“After getting the information, we reached the spot and found five dead bodies, four women and a man suspecting the residents of Sambalpur, according to the preliminary inquiry, it is a case of suicide on a large scale. After the inspection by magistrate, all the bodies will be sent for postmortem, “IIC, GRP, G Dung Dung said.

Meanwhile, MLA of Sambalpur, Raseswari Panigrahi reached the spot to review the situation. “I came to know about the incident from relatives of dead persons. It is an unfortunate incident that the five members of a family of different age groups take such kind of steps, a proper investigation should be done to know the truth behind the incident. “said Panigrahi.
