Nabanka Besha


Nabanka Besha is the adornment of the deities which involves them wearing garlands made up of leaves of the holy basil plants. They are dressed in long robes with red colored border and a similar robe is fashioned like turbans on their heads. The besha, which is believed to have been started by Chaitanya Mahaprtabhu, is seen on a day prior to Makar Sakranti.
